Change 4 Life NHS Campaign – Road show staff across the UK

The Brief

field marketing staff, promo staffEnvisage Experiential won the tender from a leading PR agency to provide promotional staff at locations across the UK. The brief from our client was to supply staff of all races, shapes, sizes and ages. The focus was for us to supply staff that could engage with people, get results and have outgoing personalities. Looks were not the driving factor here and our brief was to shy away from your typical promotional personnel .The Change 4 Life campaign is a NHS and government initiative to promote healthy eating and regular exercise. Each road show has various live activities including garden and kitchen environments filled with interactive games, challenges and family quizzes designed to educate, inform and attract people of all ages and backgrounds.

Our promotional event staff were asked to challenge the public, get them to embrace the benefits of being health and fitness conscious but demonstrate how it can be exciting and fun without radical changes to their life’s. In addition to this some of the staff would collect data and work to targets set by our client.

We started working with the PR Agency on the Change 4 Life Campaign in June 2012 and to date have provided more than 300 of our promotional teams across 50 locations from Plymouth to Leeds and everywhere in between.

The roadshow staff that we provide for our client are very well briefed by the Envisage Experiental bookings team. We understood from day one that as the PR Agency were promoting a healthy lifestyle it was important that the promotional and event staff we provided reflected this message. But also to make sure we provided people of all races, ages and abilities.

Ensuring that we provide the right personnel from our database of more than 4,000 promotional personnel was high on both the clients and our agenda. Our client has continually been impressed that we appoint an event manager at each road show at no extra cost so they have a point of contact if anything needs changing on the day.

All the roadshows are covered with our 24/7 replacement service so the client is happy in the knowledge that should we have a member of the team unable to attend we can replace them instantly with another well briefed and keen promotional person.

One of the things we are unable to control is the weather and on several occasions our bookings team have been changing things around at 5am in the morning to suit the weather conditions but that’s all part of the 24/7 service we provide. A big challenge for us and the client was that 70% of the events are outdoor.  The bad weather during the floods meant that many of the events were changed in terms of location, activities and the approach on the day just hours before the start of the assignment.  We had to deal with very late changes on some of the events with our bookings team and event managers organising changes at 5am on Saturday mornings.

With a huge focus on signing up as many people as possible to the change 4 life campaign with data collection and getting people actively involved with the activities we had targets to reach throughout the campaigns for the PR Agency.

Our promotional people have been fantastic. The feedback from our client has always been brilliant because of the confident, engaging and reliable staff we provide at every road show regardless of the location. We continue to provide our staff for all the Change for life campaigns which is testament to the great job and the results our guys generate at each event.
